Rotary Hears From LaTaaka Harvey

LaTaaka Harvey, known as the person who started COPY and has for several years helped Bill Shrum with his William Shrum Journalism Scholarship. Shrum wanted to help a student who was going into Journalism. In Bill’s eyes, LaTaaka was like a daughter to him, and he never hesitated to introduce her as such.

Shrum was a beloved member of the community and you would be hard pressed to find someone who did not  know Bill and love him. He was a member of the Era-Enterprise staff, contracting stories and writing a weekly column. The EE is now rerunning many of Bill’s columns as a tribute to him.

After Shrum’s death last February, several in the community wanted to see Shrum’s dream of helping a student pursue journalism, continue on. So they donated to the fund and hopefully many others will see donating to his Scholarship as a way to continue Bill’s legacy.
