Duncan leads Stuttgart to Victory over Southside.

Senior Dagan Duncan had a good day on the mound for the Ricebirds.  Duncan struck out eleven (11) batters as the southpaw led Stuttgart to a 15-1 trouncing over the Southerns. Duncan surrendered two hits, one run, and five walks over 5 innings. 

     The DiamondBirds scored 10 runs in the 2nd inning on their way to a conference victory.  Seniors Austin Fontenot,

Harper Feilke, Dagan Duncan, and Hayden Prine, each drove in runs.

Fontenot, Duncan, and Beau Barnes had strong at bats collecting two hits each for Stuttgart going 2 for 3 at the plate. 

     Multiple RBI’s were secured by Nathan Spoon, Fontenot, Feilke, and

Duncan helping secure the conference win.

Stuttgart Ricebirds got on the board in the top of the first inning after Nathan Spoon singled to the right side of the infield, Southside Varsity Southerners committed 2 errors scoring one run.

Stuttgart Ricebirds added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Harper Feilke singled down the left field line, Beau Barnes walked, and Southside Varsity Southerners committed more errors, each scoring one run.

Stuttgart Ricebirds scored seven runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Axton McCrea grounded out, scoring one run, Hayden Prine drew a walk, scoring one run, Blaine Baxter induced Feilke to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Barnes singled, scoring one run, Brilon Hogan drew a walk, scoring one run, and Braxton Kirkdoffer drew a walk, scoring one run.

Spoon led things off on the bump for Stuttgart Ricebirds. The sophomore righty surrendered one hit and two runs over four innings, striking out five and walking none. Junior Axton McCrea tossed one inning of no-run ball for Stuttgart Ricebirds in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out two and walking none.

Stuttgart amassed nine hits in the game. Spoon, Dagan Duncan, Hogan, Feilke, Jay Griffin, Barnes, Hudson Caver, McCrea, and Mason  Brawley each collected one hit for Stuttgart Ricebirds. Feilke and Caver each drove in two runs for Stuttgart Ricebirds.  Stuttgart Ricebirds didn't commit a single error in the field.
