DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes Trounce McGehee Varsity Lady Owls

DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes won big over McGehee Varsity Lady Owls 15-0 on Monday, April 20.

DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after an error scored one run, Harley Grammer homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Zoi Ross grounded out, scoring one run.

DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Jordyn Belle Easterwood tripled to center field, and McGehee Varsity Lady Owls committed an error, each scoring one run.

DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes scored seven runs on two hits in the top of the third inning. Daisy Pettway drew a walk, scoring one run, Easterwood grounded out, scoring two runs, Khloe Lloyd singled, scoring one run, Gracey Lloyd drew a walk, scoring one run, and Jaden Hornbeck singled, scoring one run.

Lloyd earned the win for DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes. The starter surrendered three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out two and walking none. 

Leadoff hitter Easterwood led DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes with three hits in four at bats. Lloyd and Grammer were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes. Pettway led DeWitt Varsity Dragonettes with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game.
