Dawn’s Delights

by Dawn Teer

Can you believe that it is almost graduation? I can not! It seemed that January, February and March were so slow…then April just flew by and we are looking at the DeWitt graduation a week from tomorrow on May 8! Stuttgart’s will be next week, on May 15! I guess we were so stinkin’ busy the entire month of April that it flew right by! Now I feel like I am playing catch up. We will, as usual, have a special grad tab keepsake edition in the newspaper, and we are offering advertising to congratulate the graduates. This is open to businesses, along with friends and family. Prices are quite reasonable and will appear in a special section so that your grad can keep it for years to come. That’s something you don’t get from an online paper. If you would like to place an ad for your grad, contact Sabrina Rodgers at 870-830-0757 or our office at 870-800-6397 (NEWS), or myself, at 870-267-8274.
I am not sure that all our readers voted, because the counts were low. But then, I am also still trying to make people in Stuttgart realize that we are even here! As I have said many times in this column, we are no longer a DeWitt only paper, we expanded to the whole county. Unfortunately, there are still those who don’t know we are covering the entire county.  Even though there are two contract reporters in DeWitt and only me in Stuttgart, I don’t ever hear about any DeWitt goings on, nor do my contractors. I am not sure how people can be upset that their event isn’t covered, when they never bothered to let anyone know. We are not mind readers, that’s probably a good thing. If you want your news covered, you have to let someone know. Don’t think that Facebook is going to let me know, because I don’t have time to sit on Facebook all day to find things out. Not to mention, by the time I see it on Facebook, it is over. If you want us to be at your event, call our office at 870-800-6397 and leave a message or talk to us directly. If you don’t tell us then you can’t gripe because we didn’t cover it.
Let us know about your events. We are ALL LOCAL, ALL THE TIME and the ONLY printed newspaper in Arkansas County. We look forward to hearing from you!
Until next time…
