Hali Watkins’s Big Day Propels Stuttgart Varsity Lady Ricebirds Past Star City Varsity Bulldogs
Hali Watkins collected four hits in four at bats, as Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds defeated Star City Varsity Bulldogs 11-7 on Monday. Watkins doubled in the fourth inning, tripled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
Lily Griffin doubled to center field, which helped Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds tie the game at four in the bottom of the third.
Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on one hit to take the lead, 9-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Watkins that drove in two.

The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and nine runs (six earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out four and walking four.
Hampton drove the middle of the lineup, leading Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Stuttgart Varsity Ricebirds turned one double play in the game.
Star City Varsity Bulldogs piled up 14 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Paisleigh Martin led Star City Varsity Bulldogs with four hits in four at bats. Glover and Blasengame each drove in two runs for Star City Varsity Bulldogs. Riley and Lilly Weast each collected multiple hits for Star City Varsity Bulldogs.
